Helio Albuquerque is an attorney licensed in Brazil and is currently an LL.M. candidate at Fordham University School of Law with a concentration in Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law.
He focuses on IRS and NYS tax controversy issues, including the negotiation of offers in compromise, and penalty abatements, with a particular focus on matters involving complex corporate or partnership issues.
Previously, Helio worked as a Tax Associate for PwC and was involved in corporate and individual tax projects such as transfer pricing, tax auditing, compliance, tax computations, and fiscal obligations for individuals, especially expatriates. As an attorney in Brazil, Helio has significant experience with commercial litigation, international tax and contract drafting.
Helio is the LL.M. representative for the Student Bar Association and other student groups at Fordham Law, as well as a Research Assistant and a Fellow at the Corporate Law Center.
